JP, short for Jean Pierre, is unlike any other. He is quick to jump right in to help and never backs down from a challenge. JP joined our team in 2020 and comes seasonally each year through the H2A program. Back home in South Africa, JP was a draftsman with limited ag experience – though now, you would think he had been farming much of his life. His desire to learn and to do things well are two of our favorite things about him, not to mention how clean he keeps his tractor cab even in the thick of harvest.
Two things are a huge part of South African culture: a braai (similar to barbecuing here in the States) and rugby, both of which are a huge part of JP’s personality. He also enjoys golf, being outdoors, wood work, and working on old trucks. JP is often found enjoying a steak for dinner or drinking a cup of coffee, no matter the time of day or how hot out. Last but certainly not least, JP’s humor keeps our whole crew laughing.
